A judge who was on the panel or jurors that acquitted Amanda Knox has said that she and Raffaele Sollecito, her Italian ex-boyfriend and co-defendant, may know the "real truth" about the murder of Meredith Kercher, and could even be responsible.
The report comes amid news that Knox's family has asked Sollecito — who was also cleared of the murder of Meredith Kercher — to come to her home town of Seattle.
The Telegraph quotes Sollecito's father, Dr Francesco Sollecito, as saying: "We each went our separate ways after the sentence but through my daughter I heard that Amanda's stepdad invited us to Seattle. It is too soon to say whether we will go."
Francesco reportedly spoke to reporters outside the house in the Italian town of Bisceglie, near Bari, where his son is currently staying after being released from four years in prison.

The Press Associated reported the first public comments of Judge Claudio Pratillo Hellmann since Knox and Sollecito were acquitted on Monday.
The judge, PA reports, said on state TV that the acquittals "resulted from the truth that was created in the trial."
He reportedly added:
"But the real truth could be different... They could also be responsible but the proof isn't there.
"So, maybe they know, too, but as far as we [the jury] go, they didn't."
Asked who knew the truth about the night Kercher died, Hellmann said, "Certainly Rudy Guede" knows, a reference to a third defendant, Rudy Guede, who is serving a 16-year sentence in Italy over the murder.
"I won't say he's the only one to know," the judge reportedly added. "Maybe the two defendants also know" he said, but "our verdict of acquittal is the result of the truth that was created in the trial."
Knox, who flew back to the U.S. late Tuesday, has not been seen publicly since giving a brief statement at Seattle-Tacoma airport upon her arrival from London.

Tearfully, she said:
"I am really overwhelmed right now. I was looking down from the airplane and it seemed like everything wasn't real.
"What is important for me to say is just thank-you to everyone who has believed in me, who has defended me and supported my family.
"My family is the most important thing to me right now and I want to go and be with them. Thank you for being there for me."
