Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have bowed out of their final four Twilight convention appearances, the latest fallout from Stewart's affair with her married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.
Taylor Lautner, the couple's co-star, has also ducked out of the conventions, which are scheduled to take place August 25th in San Antonio; September 29th in Detroit; October 5th in New Jersey; and November 3rd in Los Angeles, Perez Hilton reported. Perhaps he just doesn't want to deal with the awkwardness?
Twilight fans were initially hoping that the pair would simply switch off conventions to avoid each other, Crushable reported, but the two young stars are instead opting to avoid the events altogether.
Pattinson, who has moved out of the California mansion he shared with Steward, has lost his patience with the media coverage of his love life altogether.
"Media culture is a monstrous thing," Pattinson said of the press, according to Gawker. "You can't win. The annoying thing is that you can't attack them, but you can't defend yourself. The best thing you could possibly do is punch a paparazzi and give them their big payday."

However, the show will go on, with or without Bella and Edward.
"The passion and dedication of Twilight fandom has been amazing and we're out to throw one last giant convention, a final gathering to see old friends that have made up the Twilight family," a statement from the film's production company Creation Entertainment said, according to Radar Online.
"Although Rob, Kristen and Taylor will not be with us this time out we will have a super line-up of other Twilight stars and the weekend will be filled with special events, movie prop and costume displays, contests, panels, auctions, parties, exclusive merchandise, music and much more, including some surprises!"
