Ecuador's Quito League has new coach

QUITO, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Ecuador's Liga de Quito (Quito League) football team Friday presented its new coach, Argentinean-born Luis Zubeldia, for the 2014 season.

Club president Esteban Paz officially welcomed Zubeldia at a press conference, who arrived in Ecuador's capital Quito a day earlier to ink his coaching contract with one of the country's top teams.

"Moving to the Liga and being able to contribute my two cents, along with my coaching team, so that things work out well, motivates me. I am very pleased," said Zubeldia, who formerly served as coach of Ecuadoran team Barcelona, from 2011 to 2012.

"Barcelona has been an important step in my career and now I want to live up to the standards of Liga," he added.

The team has been performing poorly in the second stage of the current national championship, placing ninth among the 12 teams.
