(Sports) With most medals in hand Myanmar ready for opening ceremony of SEA Games
NAY PYI TAW, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has obtained 18 golds, seven silvers and nine bronzes, leading the medal table of the 27th South East Asian Games on Tuesday, one day ahead of the long- awaited opening ceremony of the tournament.
Vietnam ranked second with nine golds, four silvers and seven bronzes, followed by Thailand with five golds, nine silvers and four bronzes.
Myanmar's early medal achievement is a timely match for the grand opening ceremony at Nay Pyi Taw's Wunna Theikdi Stadium.
The technical sectors such as lighting and sound system for the ceremony are managed by Chinese experts who were engaged in 2008 Beijing Olympics.
