Australia's unemployment rate rises to 5.8 pct in November
SYDNEY, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Australia's unemployment rate increased by less than 0.1 percentage points to 5.8 percent in November, the Australian Bureau of Statistics reported on Thursday.
Figures released by the bureau showed the number of people unemployed in Australia rose by 3,400 people to 712,500 in November.
The November unemployment rate was in line with economists' forecasts.
According to the bureau, the total number of people employed rose by 21,000 to 11,659,900 on in the month.
Full-time employment rose by 15,500 to 8,107,900 in November and part-time employment was up 5,500 to 3,552,000.
The labor force participation rate remained steady at 64.8 percent in November, the bureau said.
