Hopoate, Dugan, Bird named in NSW Origin side
SYDNEY, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Will Hopoate, Josh Dugan and Greg Bird were the new NSW Blues players chosen on Tuesday for the second rugby league State of Origin game against Queensland scheduled for next week.
Hopoate and Dugan were named replacements for the injured Morris brothers while Bird comes in at the expense of bench impact player Tony Williams. "It's always difficult to leave someone out of a team that has performed so well. I had to find a position for Birdy and T-Rex is the unlucky one," Blues coach Laurie Daley told Fox Sports.
Bird's inclusion means Paul Gallen will move into the front-row with James Tamou dropping to the bench.
NSW leads the series 1-0 and is searching to break Queensland's eight-year stranglehold on Origin.
