Indian stocks close lower
MUMBAI, July 8 (Xinhua) -- The Indian stocks closed lower Tuesday with the BSE benchmark index Sensex free falling 517.97 points or 1.98 percent to close at 25,582.11 points.
The Bharatiya Janata Party-led government presented its maiden railway budget Tuesday, which showed the government is severely short of fund for the railway sector and is looking for private investment.
All the stocks were trading in red. Heavy selling pressure was seen in capital goods, metal, consumer durables, oil and gas, auto, realty and banking sectors.
