WARSAW, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Poland's rate of unemployment in June fell to 12.0 percent from 12.5 percent in May, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) announced on Wednesday.
At the end of June, a little more than 1,900,000 people were registered as jobless GUS reported.
Newly created jobs stood at 85,300, down from 95,900 in May and up from 76,100 in June last year.
In June, 256 enterprises declared that in the near future they planned to lay off 21,400 people, including 3,700 in the public sector.
Last year, 432 enterprises planned to lay off a total of 33,900 employees, including 7,900 in the public sector.
