ACCRA, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Ghana moved two places up from the 38th position to rank 36th in the latest edition of the FIFA world ranking table, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced on Thursday.
Ghana now has 648 points from July's 642, behind the Czech Republic in the second FIFA rankings after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Black Stars jumped to fourth on the continental table where Algeria remains on top followed by Ivory Coast and Nigeria.
World champions Germany continue to lead the way ahead of Argentina and The Netherlands.
The results of 23 new international "A" matches have been taken into account for the current edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
Ten of these matches were friendlies, whereas the remaining 13 were qualifiers for the next CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
