Because the Girl Scouts in November allowed a 7-year-old transgender child in Colorado to join, the organization's famous cookies should be boycotted, according to an organization whose face is now a California teenager on YouTube, according to The Washington Post.

The call for a boycott coincides with the 100th anniversary of the organization. The inclusion of the Colorado child also caused three Girl Scouts at a Christian school in Louisiana to disband last month, according to The Christian Post.

Identified only as Taylor, 14, of Ventura County, CA, the teenager appears in the video saying that revenues from the cookies are used to promote "the desires of a small handful of people."

“Right now, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A....is not being honest with us girls, its troops, its leaders, its parents or the American public,” the girl is quoted as saying. “Girl Scouts describes itself as an all-girl experience. With that label, families trust that the girls will be in an environment that is not only nurturing and sensitive to girls' needs, but also safe for girls.”

According to The Christian Post, the video was produced by an organization identified as Honest Girl Scouts. The Washington Post said the video was accompanied by a press release sent to religious publications.

In an e-mail to The Washington Post, Michelle Tompkins, a Girl Scouts spokeswoman said the organization “prided itself on being an inclusive organization serving girls from all walks of life”

“We handle cases involving transgender children on a case by case basis with a focus on ensuring the welfare and best interests of the child in question and the other girls in the troop as our highest priority,” Tompkins was quoted as saying. The spokeswoman also said that the Girl Scout Cookie Program’s proceeds “stay in the local market and are used to fund programs for girls.
