Wales suffered a late setback ahead of their friendly international against Austria when Aaron Ramsey withdrew through injury just hours before kick-off on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old Arsenal midfielder bowed out of the match at Swansea's Liberty Stadium with a calf problem and has now returned to the north London club for treatment.
Confirming Ramsey's exit, a Football Association of Wales statement said: "Aaron Ramsey has this (Wednesday) afternoon withdrawn from the Wales squad to face Austria at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea.
"Aaron has a problem with his calf and has returned to his club Arsenal for treatment."
