Central African rebels said Wednesday they were suspending their role in the new national unity government, claiming that its make-up was not in line with a recently agreed peace deal.
"For now, we have suspended our participation in the government. We have sent a note to the mediator, (Congolese) President Denis Sassou Nguesso. We are awaiting his reply," General Mohamed Moussa Dhaffane, one of the rebel leaders, told AFP.
