Disdaining a sleeveless-style jersey for a lightweight shirt, the NBA's Golden State Warriors unveiled on Monday the new alternate jerseys they will wear for three home games this season.

Billed as the first modern-era NBA short-sleeve jersey, the Adidas-designed tops and ventilated stretch-woven shorts will be on display for the first time when the Warriors play host to San Antonio on February 22.

The yellow tops, featuring armhole insets that allow for free range of motion for the arm and shoulders within the stretch fabric, also will be used when the Warriors entertain Houston on March 8 and Chicago on March 15.

The unique uniforms were 18 months in development to ensure comfort while maintaining peak performance compared to the sleeveless "tank top" style used by NBA clubs, with player feedback throughout the evolution of the jersey.

"I couldn't wait to wear it in a game," Warriors forward Harrison Barnes said. "I love the fit and style the sleeves give me on the court."

The new jerseys are constructed from 60 percent recycled materials.
