Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Germany in April to attend the Hannover Messe, the world's biggest industry and trade fair, together with Chancellor Angela Merkel, organisers said Thursday.
Putin, whose country will be guest of honour, is due to participate in the annual fair's opening event on April 7 and a tour of the stands the following day and on both occasions will meet Merkel, according to a written statement.
The German chancellor will officially open the April 8-12 trade fair.
Merkel met Putin in Moscow in November when they clashed over the jailing of feminist rock band Pussy Riot.
