Former European 100m champion Verena Sailer retained her German national 60m indoor title on Saturday, despite racing with the 'flu ahead of next weekend's European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg.
Despite feeling under the weather, the 27-year-old won the 60m final at the German championships held in Dortmund in a time of 7.18sec.
"It was important for me to run here ahead of the European Championships and take part in some competition," said Sailer, who won the 2011 European 100m title in Barcelona.
Reigning European Indoor shot-put champion Ralf Bartels, 35, won his 14th national title with a throw of 20.08m with the German indoor championships to end on Sunday.
