Hong Kong shares ended 0.25 percent higher on Wednesday after US Federal Reserve chief Ben Bernanke soothed concerns that the bank's huge monetary easing policy would end earlier than expected.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 57.32 points to 22,577.01 on turnover of HK$68.18 billion ($8.80 billion).
Chinese shares closed up 0.87 percent. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 19.88 points to 2,313.22 on turnover of 88.3 billion yuan ($14.2 billion).
