AEK defender Christos Arkoudas has been banned for 10 months after testing positive for the banned substance oxilofrine, the Greek top flight announced Thursday.
The 22-year-old had failed a routine anti-doping test after the match with OFI Crete on January 26 and a second test confirmed the substance -- a stimulant -- used.
Arkoudas has the right to appeal the punishment which is lighter than the maximum two-year ban which may have been imposed based on the Hellenic Football Federation's disciplinary code.
