Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil believes his side have shown they are perfectly capable of beating Manchester United on Tuesday night after two victories over Barcelona in the past week.

Ozil wasn't involved as Madrid beat the Catalans 2-1 in the league on Saturday but started in the more significant 3-1 in victory at the Camp Nou in the Spanish Cup last Tuesday and is confident of claiming another huge away victory after the first leg with United ended 1-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"It is going to be a difficult game against a good team, but we have already shown in the first leg what we are capable of," he told German newspaper Die Welt.

"We were clearly the better team in the first-half and we had numerous chances to score.

"We have a lot of respect for Manchester United, but our objective is to play as we can and this way we can beat anyone. Whoever wins in Barcelona can win in Manchester."

The German international was also quick to downplay recent media speculation that Madrid's indifferent form in the league this season has been due to unrest between certain high-profile players and manager Jose Mourinho.

"I am in form, I am happy to be playing every week and I am enjoying myself on the pitch. This is because the coach believes in me and I thank him for my good level of performance.

"The media write a lot of things about the relationship in the dressing room, but I can only say that my relation with Mourinho is very good. He supports me and for me he is one of the best coaches in the world, if not the best.

"We are a team and if we were not united we would not have been able to win in Barcelona. We are all respectful of one another and we are a little family."

Madrid flew out to Manchester on Sunday evening without any new injury problems following Saturday's Clasico.

Captain Iker Casillas remains sidelined by a hand injury but otherwise Mourinho has a fully-fit squad to choose from.
