Cricket: New Zealand 385 for seven against England

New Zealand were 385 for seven at tea in the opening Test against England at University Oval in Dunedin on Friday.

Skipper Brendon McCullum was unbeaten on 35 and Bruce Martin nine not out to give the Black Caps a first innings lead of 218 after Hamish Rutherford scored 171 on debut.

James Anderson was the pick of the England bowlers, taking four wickets for 97.
