European stocks close mostly in negative territory

Europe's main stock markets closed in mostly negative territory Wednesday, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading companies ending down 0.45 percent at 6,481.5 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 closed more or less flat, adding a modest 0.06 percent to end at 7,970.91 points, while in Paris the CAC 40 finished 0.10 percent lower, at 3,836.04 points.
