Distance-running star Haile Gebrselassie will defend his Great Manchester Run title in May, organisers announced Thursday.
The Ethiopian, 40 next month, has won the last five editions of the race and six in all, having enjoyed his first success in the north-west English city back in 2005.
Gebrselassie, a double Olympic 10,000 metres champion, said he'd no intention of retiring: "I love running, it is part of my life and part of my daily routine.
"As long as I enjoy it so much I will keep running and I don't know how and when this will finish. And how could I resist the opportunity to return to Manchester?"
The Great Manchester Run will take place on May 26, with Gebrselassie also set to compete in the Vienna half-marathon and a 10-mile event in Bern before heading to England.
