URGENT ¥¥¥ Jailed Kurdish rebel leader says time for politics not arms
Jailed Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan said after calling for a ceasefire on Thursday that Turkey was entering a new era of politics not arms.
"I say before millions who heed my calls, a new era is dawning for politics to prevail, not arms," he said in a letter written from his prison cell and read by a pro-Kurdish lawmaker to hundreds of thousands of people gathered in the southeastern city of Diyarbakir.
