URGENT ¥¥¥ Shooting, explosions shake C. African capital: AFP

Gunfire and explosions shook the capital of the Central African Republic on Sunday after rebels said they had pushed into the city in their battle to oust President Francois Bozize, an AFP journalist reported.

The journalist said the explosions and shooting could be heard in the south of Bangui, while a source in the Central African Multinational Force (FOMAC) said the firing had also resumed at around 0645 GMT in the north of the capital.
