European stocks rise at open, before rate calls

Europe's main stock markets rose at the start of trading on Thursday as investors looked ahead to interest rate decisions due from the ECB and Bank of England.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index edged up 0.01 percent to 6,420.96 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 climbed 0.36 percent to 7,902.86 points and in Paris the CAC 40 also gained 0.36 percent to stand at 3,768.30.
