Tokyo stocks up 0.73% by noon

Tokyo stocks rose 0.73 percent on Wednesday morning following New York's lead, where shares pushed to another record close despite international tensions over North Korea's military threat.

The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 96.95 points to 13,289.30 at the break. The Topix index of all first-section issues was up 1.45 percent, or 15.97 points, to 1,118.01.
