Tokyo stocks down 1.21% by noon

Tokyo stocks fell 1.21 percent on Monday morning after losses on overseas markets and as the world watches whether North Korea marks Kim Il-Sung's birthday with a missile launch.

The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 163.32 points at 13,321.82 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.90 percent, or 10.33 points, at 1,138.24.
