Trial of opposition leader Navalny adjourned until April 24

A Russian court on Wednesday adjourned the trial on embezzlement charges of opposition leader Alexei Navalny until April 24 in order to give his defence lawyers more time to acquaint themselves with the case.

Judge Sergei Blinov approved a request by the defence to be given more time, with the highly-anticipated trial in the northern city of Kirov adjourning barely forty minutes after it started, an AFP correspondent said.
