5-15 dead, at least 160 hurt in Texas explosion

The massive explosion at a Texas fertilizer factory, which one official likened to a "nuclear bomb," has killed five to 15 people and wounded more than 160, a police spokesman told reporters on Thursday.

The death toll "is estimated anywhere from five to 15 at this point," while three area hospitals had treated more than 160 people with varying injuries, Waco police sergeant W. Patrick Swanton said, adding that those figures could still rise.
