Football: Japan, Italy 'legends' set for clash

Franco Baresi will lead former Italian stars in a match against their Japanese counterparts in Tokyo on June 9, marking the 20th anniversary of Japan's professional J-League, organisers said Monday.

The afternoon clash, dubbed a "Japan-Italy Legend Match," will be played at the 54,000-seat National Stadium with tickets priced between 1,000 yen ($10) and 30,000 yen.

Former AC Milan defender Baresi, 52, will serve as the playing manager of the Italian team, "Glorie Azzurre," which will also feature the likes of Dino Baggio, Luigi Di Biagio, Salvatore Schillaci and Christian Vieri.

The Japanese side will include such J-League retirees as Tetsuji Hashiratani, Brazilian-born Ruy Ramos and Masakiyo Maezono.
