NBA: Nets beat Bulls to avoid elimination

Brook Lopez scored 28 points and Deron Williams added 23 to lead the Brooklyn Nets over the Chicago Bulls 110-91 on Monday, keeping the Nets in contention in their NBA first-round playoff series.

The Nets pulled within three games to two in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference series, with game six set for Thursday at Chicago. The winner will face the defending NBA champion Miami Heat in the second round of the playoffs.

Lopez added 10 rebounds while Williams contributed 10 assists for Brooklyn, which also had 12 rebounds from Reggie Evans and 13 points off the bench from Andray Blatche.

The Bulls, who made a stunning comeback in the last minutes of regulation time on the way to a game-four victory, could not produce another rally after the Nets took a 98-91 lead late in the fourth quarter.

Gerald Wallace sank a 3-pointer and turned a steal into a slam dunk to give Brooklyn a 103-91 edge and ignite a game-ending 12-0 run for the Nets.

Nate Robinson, who sparked the Bulls' victory rally in game three, led the Bulls with 20 points.
