Kerry calls on Putin to 'find common ground' on Syria

US Secretary of State John Kerry called on Russian President Vladimir Putin Tuesday to help find common ground over the conflict in Syria, saying Moscow and Washington had shared interests in the country.

"The United States really believes that we share some very significant common interests on Syria," Kerry told Putin at the start of talks in the Kremlin. "It is my hope that we will be able to dig into that a little bit. And see if we can find common ground."
