Goalkeeper Pablo Migliori of Argentine top-flight club San Lorenzo has been released after spending 40 days on remand for aiding and abetting an alleged murderer, his lawyer said.
Migliori was released after "committing himself not to slow down the investigation" by police into the death of a 56-year-old man in 2011, his lawyer, Angel Moyano, told reporters late Thursday.
Police believe the man, who died of injuries sustained in a beating, was killed by a fugitive 'barra brava', or hardcore fan, of Migliori's former club Boca Juniors.
Migliori, 31, had been jailed after he refused to testify to police who want to question Maximiliano Mazzaro, a member of a group of hardcore Boca fans.
