Striker Matt Simon will return to Australian A-League champions Central Coast Mariners next season after a release from his South Korean club, the Mariners said on Thursday.
Simon, 27, has signed a one-year deal after he was released from K-League side Chunnam Dragons following an injury-blighted season.
The player, who left the Mariners in January last year, said he was looking to recapture his form playing again under coach Graham Arnold.
"I am really excited to come back to the club," Simon said. "I had a tough time in Korea with injury. But it's a great time to come back and I am happy to be joining the champions."
Simon said working again with the backroom staff at the Mariners influenced his decision to return home.
"I couldn't quite get my body right in Korea, but working with the guys at the Mariners again was a big part of my decision of coming home," he said.
