16 killed in new series of Iraq attacks

Bombings and shootings in Iraq on Tuesday killed 16 people, many of them security forces members, officials said, the latest in a wave of violence that authorities are struggling to contain.

The violence, which also wounded 37 people, included a bombing on a bus in a Shiite area of Baghdad, a day after a wave of bombings in the capital killed more than 50 people.
