Polish international midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski extended his contract with Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund by two years to 2018 on Monday.
The 27-year-old - nicknamed Kuba - has been with Dortmund since 2007, scoring 25 goals in 168 appearances. In that time they have won two Bundesliga titles and lost to German rivals Bayern Munich in this season's Champions League final.
"He is an important pillar of our team as much for his personality as for his play on the pitch," said the club's sporting director Michael Zorc.
