French international prop Remi Casty has signed a two-year deal to play for the Sydney Roosters, the National Rugby League side said on Wednesday.
He will join the club from 2014, reuniting with Roosters mentor Trent Robinson who coached him at English Super League club Catalans Dragons in 2011-12.
Under Robinson's tutelage, Casty's game lifted to new levels and he was named the French player of the year in 2011.
Viewed as a leader on the field, Casty is recognised as one of the most dangerous forwards in the Super League, known for his strong and powerful tackling style.
The 28-year-old has made seven appearances for France so far and will join the Roosters after the World Cup in England this year.
"I've spent eight wonderful seasons at the Catalans Dragons. I'm very proud to have worn the jersey and I really want to thank the club to allow me to take this opportunity," he said.
