Belgium international midfielder Timmy Simons has returned to FC Bruges after quitting Nuremberg a year before his contract ran out, the German side said on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the possibility of joining the coaching staff thereafter.
Simons won two Belgian titles with Bruges in 2003 and 2005 before moving to PSV Eindhoven and then joining Nuremberg in 2010.
The Germans did not reveal the amount of the transfer fee.
