31 dead in Iraq bombs against Shiites

A wave of bombings targeting Shiite Muslims mostly in markets in Baghdad and southern Iraq killed at least 31 people and wounded more than 100 on Tuesday, officials said, updating an earlier toll.

The attacks struck five neighbourhoods of Baghdad, as well as Basra, Amara and Samawa in the south of the country, security officials and medical sources said.
