European shares rally after central banks assure on easy money

European shares prices rallied on Thursday after the Bank of England and European Central Bank separately signalled that monetary policy would focus on stimulating the economy for some time.

In afternoon trading, London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares shot up 3.14 percent to 6,425.28 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index rose 2.07 percent to 7,991.56 points, while in Paris the CAC 40 gained 2.31 percent to 3,787.60 points.
