Hong Kong stocks climbed 1.07 percent on Wednesday following a positive lead from Wall Street and despite worse than expected Chinese trade data.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 221.55 points, to end at 20,904.56 on turnover of HK$52.85 billion (US$6.82 billion).
Chinese shares closed up 2.17 percent. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 42.68 points to 2,008.13 on turnover of 72.8 billion yuan ($11.9 billion).
