Tokyo stocks lose 0.17% by break

Tokyo stocks lost 0.17 percent in Thursday's morning session, after the dollar plunged against the yen on speculation that the Federal Reserve will keep its stimulus programme in place for some time.

The Nikkei index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 23.84 points to 14,392.76. The Topix index of all first section shares lost 0.43 percent, or 5.18 points, to 1,190.02.
