One-time Australian international Nathan Burns has signed a loan deal to play with the Newcastle Jets for part of the new A-League season, the club said on Thursday.
His loan deal from South Korea's Incheon United will commence on September 1 following the conclusion of the K-League regular season and end on January 11 next year when he is scheduled to return to his Korean club, the Jets said.
Burns, 25, played the first two A-League seasons with Adelaide before being signed by Greek giants AEK Athens in 2008. After four seasons at AEK Athens, Burns moved Incheon in 2012.
He has played for Australia seven times and was a member of Australia's squad at the 2011 Asian Cup in Qatar.
Burns will team up at the Jets with former England international striker Emile Heskey.
