Greece coach Fernando Santos on Friday named a 24-man squad for next month's 2014 World Cup qualifying matches against Liechtenstein on September 6 and Latvia four days later.

The Greeks currently sit second in qualifying Group G with 13 points from six matches. Bosnia-Herzegovina top the group with 16 points.

Santos gave a first call-up in five years to 31-year-old Atromitos striker Dimitris Papadopoulos.

Rejoining the team after a one-match absence due to injuries are midfielder Giorgos Karagounis (Fulham) and forwards Dimitris Salpingidis (PAOK) and Giorgos Samaras (Celtic).
