Football: Argentine Figueroa stays on at Panathinaikos

Argentine striker Luciano Figueroa will stay on at Panathinaikos for a year after being drafted into their squad last season.

The 32-year-old journeyman, who scored nine goals in his 15 outings for Argentina in the 2004-5 season, played half of last season with Panathinaikos after being signed from Ecuadorian side Emelec.

Greek Super League rivals Veria also announced the signing of French midfielder Mahamadou Sissoko on a one-year contract from Scottish side Kilmarnock, where he'd been since 2010.
