Football: Greece qualify for the World Cup finals

Greece qualified for next year's World Cup finals with a 1-1 draw in their play-off second leg against Romania on Tuesday for a 4-2 aggregate win.

Greece went into the return leg on the back of a comfortable 3-1 first leg victory, and made it 4-1 on aggregate when Konstaninos Mitroglou struck in the 23rd minute.

Romania pulled one back 10 minutes after the restart via an own goal from Vasilis Torosidis, but Greece held on to book their passage to Brazil.

The 2004 European champions will be appearing at their third world Cup after 1994 and 2010.
