The West Indies were 37-1 at tea in their second innings on the third day of the first Test against New Zealand in Dunedin after being forced to follow on.

The tourists' first innings folded at 213, leaving them 396 runs behind New Zealand's 609-9 declared.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul made 76 while Tim Southee took 4-52 and Trent Boult 3-40.

The not out batsmen at tea in the second innings were Kirk Edwards on 12 and Darren Bravo on 10.
