Alpine skiing: Fog forces women's World Cup downhill cancellation

The women's World Cup downhill at the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana was cancelled on Saturday because of fog, the International Ski Federation (FIS) announced.

Heavy snowfall had originally forced the organisers to delay the start of the race but when the fog descended it gave them no option but to call it off.

However, later the organisers decided to cancel the super combined programmed for Sunday and replace it with the downhill.
