Football: Sporting Lisbon's Elias heads for Corinthians

Sporting Lisbon's record Brazilian international signing Elias Mendes Trindade has agreed a four-million-euro move to Corinthians in his homeland, the Portuguese club confirmed on Tuesday.

"Negociations between the two clubs have resulted in an agreement ... for a total of four million euros," the club said in a statement.

Elias was loaned last season to Brazilian club Flamengo, and as a result of the current deal Sporting save eight million euros in salary and image rights for the player, the club added.

The 28-year-old midfielder arrived in Lisbon in 2011 on a five-year deal worth 8.85million euros from Atletico Madrid which was a record signing by a Portuguese club.
