RugbyL: Gillett replaces injured Thaiday in Australia team

Back-rower Matt Gillett on Monday replaced injured Brisbane teammate Sam Thaiday and will make his debut in the Australian team against New Zealand in this week's rugby league Test in Sydney.

Thaiday was ruled out with a calf muscle injury, which had kept him out of the Broncos' National Rugby League loss to South Sydney on Friday.

North Queensland Cowboys centre Brent Tate has been called up to replace Gillett as 18th man (travelling reserve) for the Kangaroos.

The Kangaroos take on the Kiwis in the one-off Test on Friday.

Revised Australia team (1-13) - Billy Slater; Darius Boyd, Greg Inglis, Josh Morris, Brett Morris; Johnathan Thurston, Cooper Cronk; Matthew Scott, Cameron Smith (capt), James Tamou; Greg Bird, Matt Gillett; Paul Gallen.

Interchange: Daly Cherry-Evans, Boyd Cordner, Nate Myles, Corey Parker.
