Two die in Canada mine accident

Two workers were killed Tuesday in a mining accident in Canada that could have been caused by an earthquake, the company that owns the site said.

"A fall of ground, preceded by (seismic) activity is believed to have been a factor in the accident," First Nickel said.

The dead men were drillers working for a subcontractor at the Lockerby Mine in northern Ontario.

First Nickel suspended operations at the site, where it mines copper and nickel.
